August 4 to 17, 2024 Arioso Encounters in Thiers

Les Rencontres Arioso celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024!

Since 2013, a bunch of quartet and symphony lovers have been creating classical encounters in Thiers. The association Les Rencontres Arioso thus brings together lovers and enthusiasts of classical music. Keen to bring a different touch to the cultural landscape of Thiers, it has since established itself as an essential part of the summer program.

Thiers Classical Nights are a must in your diary.

Arioso Meetings set the pace

Les Rencontres Arioso has always dreamed of putting great music at the heart of Thiers’ cultural scene. For almost 10 years, the association has been creating a classical score for festival-goers’ ears. And it’s a great way to share in the fascinating world of classical music. It organizes concerts and workshops around classical music, as well as jazz. Each event is an opportunity to listen to music, of course, but also to meet passionate musicians.

Each concert gives the audience a chance to talk with the artists. There are also workshops open to amateur musicians, led by guest professionals. Every year, a week-long choral singing course brings together dozens of choristers from all over France.

The credo of a music festival with captivating notes

Discovering rareworks, composers and instruments: this is the credo of Rencontres Arioso. The association clears the way and proposes. But its work is not limited to the festival held in Thiers, the cutlery capital of France. Throughout the year, other classical and jazzy events are scheduled in both Vichy and Thiers. These concerts are even more intimate, to bring the audience even closer to the artists.

For Les Rencontres Arioso seeks to reduce the distance between stage and seats. So that classical music is not just a temple with narrow doors. An intimidating mass. Their credo: to bring a whole musical culture to the widest possible audience. In their eyes, it’s a way of helping to build “a more peaceful and generous world”.
