July 6 to 28, 2024 Vollore concerts Concerts without borders

Les Concerts de Vollore was the first festival to be held in the Puy-de-Dôme region, in 1978, and takes place every year in July. Renowned for the quality of its programming, over the years it has established itself as a major event for lovers of music without frontiers. Of genre, class and country. Les Concerts de Vollore has also developed a series of events throughout the year, such as “L’autre saison”.

Carrying the music in the heart of rural France

The association Les Concerts de Vollore has its own way of sculpting the cultural landscape of an entire region. It brings ” internationally-renowned artists and local talents ” to give concerts in emblematic Livradois-Forez venues. Bringing music to the heart of the countryside is a constant challenge, and one taken up by all the local players. “The region is waiting for this artistic presence. Everyone’s on board,” says Bruno Chanel, artistic director of the concerts. With elected representatives on board, tourist information offices and partner restaurants, the effort is a collective one. An effort that has its own rewards. Indeed, the Concerts de Vollore invite themselves wherever possible, in ever-changing communes.

“The Concerts de Vollore programs offer variable-geometry concerts that are accessible to everyone.

Discovery and openness des Concerts de Vollore

Originally conceived as a classical music festival, Les Concerts de Vollore has broadened its horizons over the years. Jazz and world music now occupy pride of place in a program based on a skilful balance between creation and dissemination. As a result, we offer a number of discoveries of forgotten or never-before-performed works.

Discovery is undoubtedly what makes the festival what it is. Discovery and decompartmentalization. Because for many people, attending a classical music concert still means crossing the threshold of a forbidden sanctuary, the festival has set out to make its concerts accessible to all. This openness is now reflected in the educational work carried out with the public, particularly the very young.

Les Concerts de Vollore The 2024 program

The program, which combines the great repertoire with the discovery of many lesser-known or forgotten works, gives pride of place to today’s greatest classical music performers and to young talents from our region. It is also open to jazz and world music.
