The windmill was used commercially until just before the Second World War and then for domestic purposes (to make animal feed) until 1976. In 1991, the Friends of Saint-Julien-d'Ance association set itself the task of bringing local heritage back to life, including the windmill. Since then, the windmill has been turning once again and is open to visitors.
